Intended to only be used for multiple players. In this mode, you will share the pokedex. If there are multiple people playing, than the pokedex will be synchronised between all players. You might want this if you are just playing casually, or if you want to spice things up with a 2v2 catch em all race, which should make those races a little faster paced. If you wanted to be really crazy in a 2v2 race, you could generate two random roms, and have one player from each team playing on the different rom. Maybe even, this could be used to turn it into a collaborative MMO, where we have 100s of players all trying to fill a pokedex as fast as possible.
Pokedex delay is similar to pokedex share, except it only synchronises seen entries. The other difference is that synchronising only takes place after a certain amount of time (after a particular pokemon was seen). The point of this is to make catch em all races shorter. By having a shared pokedex, everyone sees all pokemon eventually. The point of the delay, is to give the person who firsts sees the pokemon a bit of an advantage. It most likely makes sense to set the time to 1800 (30 min) or 3600 (60) minutes.
